Disneyland (Anaheim)
Located east of LA, this theme park is Walt Disney’s dream come true and
the original Disney theme park which opened in 1955.
Disneyland contains
over 50 major attractions, numerous shops and restaurants all
distributed throughout 8 different “lands” which each are decorated by
theme: Main Street (turn-of-the-century small town USA), Adventureland
(Asia, Middle East, and Pacific Islands), Frontierland (1800s Wild
West), Fantasyland (Fairy tales and childhood classics), Tomorrowland (A
look into the future), New Orleans Square (Jazz era New Orleans),
Critter Country (Pooh and Brer Rabbit rides), Mickey’s Toontown
(Cartoons come to life).

Disney’s California Adventure (Anaheim)
Located adjacent to the original Disneyland theme park,
California
Adventure opened to showcase the wonderful state of California. Like
other Disney parks, California Adventure consists of its attractions,
restaurants and shops being distributed into separate “lands” which are:
Paradise Pier, Hollywood Picture Backlot, Golden State and “a bugs
land”.

Knott’s Berry Farm Theme Park (Buena Park)
This theme park bills itself as the nation’s oldest theme park and is
fashioned in an Old West setting. There are lots of coasters including
the very popular Xcelerator. As with most theme parks there are lots of
rides, restaurants and shops. Of course you can also get jelly and jam
in the Marketplace as well!

Six Flags Hurricane Harbor (Valencia)
Located adjacent to Six Flags Magic Mountain, this theme park is Los
Angeles’ premier water theme park. There are numerous slides to choose
from to please everyone from the thrill seeker down to the toddler.
Water parks are not open during winter months so check ahead to see the
park operating dates.

Six Flags Magic Mountain (Valencia)
Like most Six Flags parks, this one is known for its roller
coasters…sixteen of them in fact. There is also a prevalent Looney Tunes
theme running through much of the park. Six Flags parks hosts lots of
concerts as well, so be sure to check with them to see who will be
entertaining before you go.

Universal Studios-Hollywood (Universal City)
Located just north of Los Angeles this theme park was designed to
showcase how movies are movies are made. To incorporate something for
everyone, they have also combined elements such as studio tours,
attractions, roller coasters and more.
