Chattahoochee River National Recreational Area -- The river itself starts up north of Helen, Georgia, runs south through Lake Lanier and Buford Dam, passes to the west of Atlanta and becomes the Georgia/Alabama border, through West Point Lake, enters Florida and becomes the Apalachicola just before entering the Gulf of Mexico.
