Historic Rosedale Plantation
The neighbors called it "Frew's Folly". Although the actually reasoning for the nickname has long faded into history, we can only guess it was the yellow chrome trim - a stark contrast to plank-style houses which were the order of the day.

Rosedale was built is 1815 by Archibald Frew, who was a merchant, postmaster and tax collector. However, the house was occupied in the 1830's by a Dr. Caldwell and his family. In addition to medical practice, he ran the then-911 acre plantation with the help of about 20 slaves.

The house itself is noted for its faux grained woodwork and original French wallpaper which still occupies the walls of three rooms.
