The Carolina Raptor Center has received more than 7,000 injured and orphaned birds of prey - such as eagles, falcons, hawks and owls - since its founding in 1980. Although more than half of the birds have been released back into the wild, the non-releasable birds remain at the center as teaching birds and adoptive parents.
