Not to be outdone by nearby Universal Studios, Disney-MGM Studios is a
working movie and television studio that showcases innovations in film,
art, and cinematography, fantastic scenery and shows, as well as a couple
of the best thrill rides in Disney World. Unlike the other parks in Disney World, Disney-MGM Studios isn't divided into 'lands' per se, but is rather oddly laid-out and is hard to navigate without a park map. Rock'n Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith - 0 - 60 in 2.8 seconds. Need more? How about shooting through twists, turns, and corkscrews with popular Aerosmith songs blasting through your head. The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror - A haunted ride in the Hollywood Tower Hotel's elevator that takes you on a tour through the hotel before plunging you repeatedly down the elevator shaft. Lights, Motor, Action! Extreme Stunt Show - One of the Studio's newest attractions added for The Happiest Celebration on Earth. This stunt spectacular features car, motorcycle, and jet ski chases, jumps, near-collisions, and pyrotechnics for an action packed show. Fantasmic! - Held at the end of each day, this popular show features vintage and recent Disney movies and cartoons, pyrotechnics, laser lights, fountains and waterworks, and other special effects to take you through a nostalgic tour of Mickey's imagination. The Disney-MGM Studios Backlot Tour - Ever wonder what goes on behind the scenes at a movie studio? Take the Backlot tour to visit the movie set for Catastrophe Canyon, as well as wardrobe, camera, props and lighting departments. Who Wants to be a Millionaire - Play It! - Nearly identical to the original Who Wants to be a Millionaire, hosted by Regis Philbin, this replica lets selected members of the audience play for Disney prizes ranging from pins, hats, and shirts, all the way up to a cruise on one of the Disney Ships. Playhouse Disney - Live on Stage! - A must-see for any preschooler, this live-action show features all of their favorite stars that they can interact and dance along with. Star Tours - A guided flight to the moon of Endor takes a wrong turn and places you in the middle of a fight between the Republic and the Empire. Muppet Vision 3-D - A zany 3D movie featuring the cast and characters of the Muppet Show, including Kermit, Fozzie, Miss Piggy, and even the two old coots in the balcony, Statler and Waldorf. Indiana Jones Stunt Spectacular - A hilarious, high-energy show filled with pyrotechnics and stunts. |
